I don't find that we have much voter intimidating here in the US, to be honest.

Maybe from bosses who want their employees to vote for their (the bosses') candidates.

Trump

1) stock market booming
2) super low unemployment
3) tax cuts

Trump ratings are rising, both his "Job Approval on Economy" and "Job Approval".
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll ... -6182.html

Lastest CNN poll puts his "Job Approval on Economy" at 54%, the highest of his presidency
https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/08/politics ... index.html

Looks like a slam dunk for Trump, unless Democrats can get people out to vote.

According to some, all those actual positive attributes don't count to millennials. If that's the case then we have a generation of slackers coming of age and no good can come of that. I guess we'll just have to see...

Unless their boss is coming to the pools with them and looking over their shoulder he won't know how they voted.
And then there is the requirement to show some kind of ID at the polls which some consider to be "voter suppression".

Of course, the employee can lie......but some people have trouble lying.

Then there's the boss looking at an employee's Facebook page.

No, the US doesn't have near the voter intimidation as a nation like Haiti has.

We still aren't as bad as the Boomers.

It's unusual enough to be considered insignificant where bosses are so controlling as to use Facebook against an employee.

Why do I dislike Trump? There are doubtlessly countless reasons, but here are the highlights:

He's a racist. He played up to the worst in Americans, appealing to white racial resentment, particularly with demonizing illegals (which is code for many for Latinos in general), Muslims (especially for people of Middle Eastern ethnicity), while giving a wink to white nationalists who have been his most ardent supporters.
He's a misogynist. His sexual abuse of women speaks loudly about his contempt he feels for them.
He's a fake Christian. He appeals to the Christian right with his talk of being born again, despite his obvious Unchristian language and lifestyle, but only because he supports their homophobia, and dangles out hope for them that he will do away with Roe v. Wade. In fact, he was pro choice till he ran as a Republican, and was up to that time an avowed atheist.
He's stupid. People who know Trump describe him as never reading, and in fact have described him as barely literate. The things he's said, from claiming that he knows more about ISIS than the generals, to refusing to read daily briefs, to just recently saying that Canada had burned down the White House during the War of 1812 (it was the British) bespeaks of a man who is not just ignorant, but who revels in ignorance.
He's a failure as a businessman. For all his talk of being a business success, the fact is he had gone bankrupt multiple times, squandered the financial legacy left him by his father, and is not a billionaire but plays one on TV. Everyone who had done business with him all say he was a cheat, while he's stiffed workers and contractors, and even refused to pay hotel bills.
He's a fake populist. For all his talk of being a "blue collar billionaire," and promising to stop Wall Street abuses, the fact of the matter is, Trump has continually sided with wealthy elites against the little guy, putting plutocrats into high government appointments, while his tax cuts are meant to enrich the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and poor. All the while, he works to overturn labor laws for the sake of business.
I could go on and on about his desecration of the environment, his betrayal of American power with his collusion with Russia and probably China, his elimination of Obama's achievements for the sake of doing away with the accomplishments of a better President and man to stroke his own ego, etc, etc, but it's getting late.

Obama was probably the worst President in history, joint with Bush maybe. They were identical.

But as you condemn America's greatest President, Lincoln, I dare say your opinion is suspect at best when it comes to Chief Executives. And that's especially since you aren't even an American but an outside observer.

I'm not sure why you'd think a white supremacist was the greatest US President. I know films might paint him as a hero but in reality he was not.

Lincoln probably said racist things about black people in his speeches in order to preserve his reputation.

Black people who knew him personally said that he wasn't a racist.

In any sense, he ended slavery in the United States. This was a huge leap forward for Afro-Americans, to say the least.

The man who freed the slaves, and was intending to grant them full rights as citizens, was hardly the most racist President America has ever had. Lincoln had freed the slaves, reunited the country, and had established America as a major power.
A real white supremacist would be Lincoln's successor, Andrew Johnson, who attempted to undo Lincoln's work by giving full rights of citizenship back to Confederates, and tried to quash the work of the Freedman's Bureau, all the while expressing his race hate.

He didn't "reunite" the country. He was a racist mass killer. He didn't "free the slaves" because he hated racism. He was a white supremacist. The North was getting support from their slave owners. He didn't mention slavery until two years into the war. It was cause Europe had ended slavery he didn't want them getting involved.

Apparently, the biggest threat to democracy is the Media.
