At least she's not a Snufflelophagus. That's that mammoth-elephant looking animal who's friends with Big Bird on Sesame Street.

I think the term "telly" was coined by Davy Jones of The Monkees in 1966.

I don't look very fluffy in this picture because I'd just done my hair, normally it sticks out more and I look fluffier.

I always pictured you as a Diplodocus... sounds good whichever way you say it... and whichever way you spell it, probably...

Both of Barney's gal pals are triceratops-type dinosaurs. Even though he seems to be vaguely T-rex like.

Rarely. It's usually TV for me, in both Norwegian and English.

"Telly" is a cute sounding word. It's not typically used in the United States unless someone is using it facetiously.

I'm not British so I usually refer to it as Tee Vee but I sometimes call it television.

I’ve never heard it used in the US. Rarely in the UK, too.

The area I live in is about 30 years behind the more sophisticated parts of the UK, so it's still heard quite often round here.

I always call it the telly. That is what it is...I never ever call it " the electronic device that I watch" that's far too long winded...

It's not often used in Canada, either.

As a kid in the 80's, however, I remember a new Muppet monster appearing on the street. His name was Telly Monster because all he did was watch television, and he had weird, swirly eyes and a metal antennae sticking out of his head. But the writers worried that kids would copy his behavior or sit too close to their TV screen, and of course parents would hate that, so they changed his eyes, got rid of the antennae, replaced his obsession of TV with triangles, and turned him into a likable worrywart. But he's still named Telly. :)

I found some videos of Telly Monster when he first appeared on Sesame Street. Mr. Hooper, David and other people were absolutely bewildered by his TV obsession. They thought maybe he was just shy, so they got a glove and a bat and asked, "How about about some baseball?" and he said, "Sure, what channel is it on?"

And then they tried to play a game with him where they came up with words that started with M, and Telly came up with things like Muppet Show, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Mickey Mouse, and M*A*S*H.

I've always known it as a "telly", and I have family from the South coast, Scotland, the Midlands and London, and live in Yorkshire.
Mind you, my step-dad still calls a radio; "the wireless", so maybe we are a bit backward in the UK!
