Many safety skills can be useful for adults living alone, and everyone else. Spotting a liar is a very useful one.
Some of these points resonated with me and I already use some listed in this article. What strategies do others use?

The Taxation instructor said "I am not a lie detector"

Besides, what is "lying"?

Factually inaccurate

A lot of the time someone told me I was "lying" and they just misunderstood me.

Most people are rubbish at detecting lies, science shows.

But some liars are so certain they are convincing, that they forget that their stories don't make sense.

Everyone lies; the only variable is what each one lies about.

The next sentence is a lie. The previous sentence is the truth.

Online when someone stresses too much that they're telling the truth, being honest etc, I start doubting them.
