Its almost that time of year again, time for my favorite holiday of all time. I love pretty much everything about it, and celebrate it for the entire month of October. I watch horror movies, go to parties dressed as Spock, visit sites reputed to be haunted, pass out trick or treat candy, I just love this (UN)holiday.

I really enjoy Halloween it's a lot of fun. Even on the video game I play there's a haunted house type thing.

I'm also looking forward to meeting new people who are fellow clients of the firm that is helping me find work.

We plan on visiting places in Portland that are reported to be haunted. An actual date has yet to be finalized.

Carving a pumpkin is not an ancient Celtic tradition, carving a turnip is. Carving pumpkins came in vogue in Victorian America.

I couldn't find a carved-turnip image that I liked.

I love Halloween. A good time for Horror and scary movies. I've already got my decorations out. I figure September 1st through October 31 is Halloween season.

Here in Canada the end of October is usually quite cold. So unfortunately people have to wear a jacket over their awsome costumes.

That's fine. What I celebrate is certainly NOT Samhain. I'm not into the whole burning people alive and child sacrifice thing.

What I celebrate is modern day Halloween, which evolved from Samhain, Pomona, and other mid fall harvest celebrations.

Go as the Fourth incarnation of Doctor Who then. Big wool coat and long scarf.

I celebrate Halloween from October 1 to November 1. The Celtic name for the holiday actually means "November" IIRC. Decorations don't go up until the last day of September. Also, in the American Midwest where I live, September is usually still quite warm and is much more Summer than Fall. Just doesn't feel like Halloween.

Oh, and of course I love carving Jack O Lanterns. That pic that Ford posted, I'm going to try to replicate all that this year.
