I’m thankful for my friends and family, their health and happiness, and the fantastic spread of food we just had for 20 people. And drinks. And too many desserts because it’s also both my sister’s and niece’ Birthdays today.

Oh, and I used Facecrack to promote registering as an organ donor so that people can leave a living legacy that others will truly be the most thankful for. 8)

In the US it's the 4th Thursday in November which is the 22 this year. When I read the thread title, I was wondering why someone was making a post about ThanxGiving already since it was still over a month & a half away.

In Canada Thanksgiving is on the second Monday of October but we celebrate it pretty much the same way Americans do on the third Sunday of November. I'm amazed by how many people outside of Canada are still not aware of this, but just about everyone in Canada knows today is Columbus Day in the United States. :?

I neither knew that Canada celebrates it nor that it's not in November like in the US. Even I have picked up that US thanksgiving is in November.

Not sure why that is so amazing, we hardly ever hear of anything in Canada.

It doesn't amaze me that the rest of the world doesn't know that we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and not Christmas Day here in Scandinavia.

When I first saw this thread I was perplexed but then I remembered that Canadians celebrate it in a different day.

Canadians and pretty much everybody else knows way way more about what goes on in the USA then Americans know about other countries.

It was always that way but it is much worse now. The news organizations have stripped the budgets for foreign news. Any respectable news organizations used to have well-staffed foreign bureaus in many countries. Now that time and effort goes to celebrities.

When I first read the thread title I thought "Halloween hasn't gone by yet, why is someone posting about Thanksgiving." Then I remembered that Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving earlier than Americans do.
