My two Siamese both used to meow loudly when I was on the phone. Samantha's meow was like that of a baby crying. She had the loudest meow of any of my cats. Prince was a quiet cat until he was about four, then he found his true Siamese voice. His brother, Paul, (possibly Oriental Shorthair) was the talker. The third brother, Peter, was the shy, quiet one until he was the only cat left. Then he began talking louder than either of his Siamese type brothers.

You can turn almost anything into a phobia if you just take the Greek word for something and add "phobia".

Don't want to eat liver? Tell your mother you have phagoheparophobia.

Leaving aside the ridiculous name, I'm not sure it qualifies as a phobia, which is supposed to be an irrational fear. If this "nomophobia" affects the type of people who rely heavily on their phones for pretty much everything, their fear is not exactly irrational, as they do seem to became rather helpless and lost without their phones.

When I read that word, I thought everyone would be talking about their fears of normal people. I don't think I have nomophobia.

It makes me think of someone who has a phobia of food, because I know that some people write "nom nom" about food or call it "nom noms." I haven't seen it as often as I used to, which is good, because I felt stupid typing this. :)
