List your favourite books, in order or no. For me, it's

1. Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
2. Charles Baudelaire, Les Fleurs du Mal
3. The Bible
4. John Stuart Mill's Autobiography
5. Bertrand Russell, Conquest of Happiness
6. Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion
7. Roger Scruton, Culture
8. Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
9. Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
10. TS Eliot, The Waste Land

I used to read all the time when I was in school but once I graduated and we moved away I quit reading anything.

I think I need to start reading books again. I used to really like reading books from the library and it's healthier for your brain than watching TV or playing video games.

I'm not normally one for thread necromancy but I wanted to add to this particular topic. There are many books that I could list as favourites. Here are 10 that immediately come to mind:

George Orwell - Nineteen Eighty-Four
Douglas Adams - The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
Kurt Vonnegut - Breakfast of Champions
Hunter S. Thompson - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett - Good Omens
J.G. Ballard - High Rise
Anthony Burgess - A Clockwork Orange
Iain Banks - The Wasp Factory
Martin Amis - Money
Philip K. Dick - A Scanner Darkly

My goodness, how much one changes in ten months. That list would no longer be accurate at all.

Largely the same ones, but in a different order. I'd remove a few and replace them with works by Peter Hitchens, Christopher Lasch and Theodore Dalrymple. I'd also add Dostoevsky's Devils.
