In country music you just can't say the "f" word.

"Well I've been hanging out with my Rebel son Kid Rock
And I don't really like this stuff they call Hip Hop
But he's sure been good to me
And I'm still trying to make him see
In country music, you just can't say the F word
My son Shelton say he's been having a hard time
Yea he does great shows but he's just got to speak his own mind
Well I wonder where that came from?
I guess he's a real son-of-gun
Take the old man's advice, be nice, and lose the F word

No, no in country music you just can't say the F word
Oh we've come a long way but it's best if that one's not heard
Oh we've had some hells and damns
But we don't say "b***h" we say, "why yes ma'am."
Cause in country music you just don't use the F word"

Hank Williams Jr. refers to Kid Rock as his son in the song, but Kid Rock is not really the son of Hank Williams Jr.

I think you have a point there; it's meant to make you go soft.

I might change my opinion if I ever hear Country Metal or Country Techno, but I don't think that will happen.

And this song has a definite metal flavor. A little pinch of metal, with a big dose of Celtic influences ala the Chieftains, all placed upon a country two-step beat. The result is a dark saga about three generations of anti social White trash! Nothing less than a masterpiece IMHO. :D

Fabulous!

What I can't stand about corporate country music (besides the smarmy contrived accents, outright abuse of pedal steel guitar, and mind-numbing cookie-cutter formulaic banality) is the Toby Keith-esque rabid ultra-nativism (replete with thinly veiled racism, misogyny, and xenophobia), the ludicrous government-sponsored warrior-cult militarism, and the shallow group-think plastic patriotism. Wave a little plastic American flag made in China and they all snap to attention like Pavlov's drooling, staring dog.

Here's some real country music:
Living in the Wasteland of the Free

Amen to all that! It's the same with rap music. I can't stand the way rap music is always singing about degrading women and being a gang banging scumbag who brags about ruining their own community.

In the 1970s, country music was one big soap opera. I hated it.

I heard the F Word in comedy country songs some of which are parody songs. I doubt I'd be able to find em on YouTube thou.

I'll have to try out country techno just to see how funny it sounds.
