For a fisherman's daughter, it would be better to...
Become 6666-th wife of the prince (I'm male) 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
Become 6666-th wife of the prince (I'm female) 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
Become the only wife of another fisherman (I'm male) 38%  38%  [ 5 ]
Become the only wife of another fisherman (I'm female) 23%  23%  [ 3 ]
It's more complicated than that 38%  38%  [ 5 ]

Humans are very flexible species and diversification of strategies makes the species even more powerful... So I guess both the options in the poll should have some support.
Some cultures seem to promote one or the other of them.
What are your views?

I am still thinking whether to accept Queen Chronos’ proposal or not.

On topic: Statistically, a man with 6665 wives would surely have STDs.

Suppose the other fisherman is the King?

And he’s strictly monogamous ?

I would count “it’s more
complicated than that” as 6666th wife answer.

I voted without really knowing what you meant Magz ,

Are the options that you either marry into royalty as part of a harem or have a 'normal' marriage but not be royal

The only wife of another fisherman.

He's a fisherman. He's got a useful trade. Sounds like a hardworking useful man.

Granted this sounds like the days before contraception so I'm going to have a load of kids to look after, but I'm hoping I'm living in some sort of community where we share our burdens and help each other out.

I think I would be too bored in a palace. It would be like being a prisoner.

I was considering, what strategy would be the best from the point of view of the population health?
And I came to a conclusion that:

1. The vast majority of people looking for a partner of their own status would give the most genetic diversity (males from all the families can have offspring)
2. Some admixture of class-hoppers, mistresses, gigolos etc. would be actually beneficial in a stratified society, preventing inbreeding inside castes.
