do you like the latest AAA or indie title
or would you rather play Super mario bros on the NES for example?
I find most modern games mundane and almost boring
i have a GIANT retro collection

My retro collection is even more retro than yours! :P

It’s all table-top role-playing games (TTRPGs). :D

I'd rather play older games, I have a huge backlog.

But every once in a while there's a really good modern game. The last one I really sat down with all the way through was probably Breath of the Wild, but there are a few 3DS games I've been playing as well.

I mostly play older games these days with a few exceptions for series I'm loyal to. If I have to choose between getting a AAA game for $60 that I might not even like or an older game for $10 that I might not even like, I'm going with the latter. Newer indie games are a bit of an exception to this, but then I could still be cheap and just get older indie games for less. AAA games are often too flashy for my taste anyway.

Still, I'm going to be working on my retro backlog for years and years...

Most of the games I play are on cartridge systems like 64, Super Nintendo, NES, or Sega Genesis. I do play PS 2, & xBox 360 & One some but my girlfriend plays xBox alot more than me.

The nice thing with this, is that the newer indie games often arent any more pricey than the older ones.

Of course actually sifting through them can be tough. Particularly if you're using Steam, it's a total mess....

Both. There are some good, old games I always love playing again (like SMB, Mario Party & Kart, Worms, Tetris, F-Zero etc), and there are some new games I love playing (like Pokemon, Fantasy Life and the DS/ 3DS versions of Dragon Quest etc).

+1 for both,

AAA titles probably the least, there are great AAA titles like Doom 4 and Skyrim but most are a rehash of the same mechanics over and over again. Call of Duty I am looking at you :P

I collect vintage games myself. Let's see your collection.

I do some retro gaming, although I play newer titles, I don't rule something out just because it is new. However, I am not a fan of realistic 3d stuff. I mostly like alpha testing and games I can compile and run. I just wish people had more up to date wikis on various open source and free software games with free content.

No reason to limit yourself. I buy new games on Steam and old Amiga games on eBay.
