When I was struggling with a job that I had many years ago, my employer sent me to their Occupational Health shrink. His verdict was that the only thing wrong with me was that I had "Jesus syndrome" (= "messiah complex", "saviour syndrome", etc.) Aside from not being a proper clinical name nor a diagnosable condition, I've been agnostic my whole life, and have always known that I can barely keep my own head above water. I've certainly never entertained the delusion that I am destined to save the world!

Once when I was still in my 30s I called on the phone to order a set of Simpsons figurines out of a catalogue and the lady on the phone assumed I was ordering them for my grandchildren. I asked her how old did she think I was, and she said she couldn't tell but the last few people orders had grandchildren.

So she assumed just because of that the next caller would be a grandma, too. How weird.
