Now I am sad thinking about those old DnD games. So much nostalgia for them and diablo 1 and 2.

Track 5, Wisdom of the World, is my favorite.

I've been really into boss themes lately.

The regular boss theme from Romancing SaGa 3 by Kenji Ito:

And the bonus boss theme from deltarune by Toby Fox:

"Calling The Four Giants" from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

It's such a beautiful theme for a beautiful scene. It sounds sad and yet it makes you feel happy to see the four giants coming to try and save the world from being destroyed by using their big arms to hold the moon in place and keep it from falling on the world.

My favourite videogame soundtrack of recent times has been Nier Automata's. From the opening track of Alien Manifestation with its shrill, otherworldly vocals, to the thumping robotic chorus of Birth of a Wish seemingly sung by the enemies you're fighting, the exquisitely arranged strings and brass of Song of the Ancients, to the bombastic themes for boss fights Bipolar Nightmare, A Beautiful Song, and Sound of the End it's an incredibly eclectic yet cohesive collection of tracks with a unique style.

Add to that that much of the soundtrack has an 8-bit chiptune variant due to gameplay mechanics that has the soundtrack frequently dynamically changing between them, there's a lot to love in this gem of a soundtrack.
