I'm a D cup which I think is still considered big; it feels like it anyway. I can only imagine having E or G cups must be very uncomfortable, sometimes having D cups can be overbearing as it causes me back pain and gets me unwanted attention. I wouldn't want them any bigger, smaller would be nicer.

It depends on your band size. D cup is big on a 32 band. Not so on a 48 inch band.

Large cup sizes are more noticeable if you are thin versus being overweight.

Not at all. D cups are for about 18-20 cm difference between under bust and on bust circumference.
D cups on 32 band have way less volume than D cups on 48 band.
Actually, if properly fitted, D cups are for medium-sized boobs.

In order to maintain the proportions, an 18 to 20 cm difference should scale to 27 to 30 cm on a 48 inch band.

The proportions are not maintained, cups are defined by this difference.

thanks so much for this! I always have trouble getting new ones as the size I am fitted to (36D) made no sense to me as I thought D is the largest, but I know I'm not THAT large. So I would often ignore the bra fitting lady and get something smaller in both number and letter, and then obviously it's too tight. This shd be taught to ppl. My mom never told me anything in fact she considers it to be shameful

Thanks for this. What is cup volume? Volume mean big. Is the band under your breasts? It been so many years since I measured myself.

I always have so much trouble finding a bra that fits, once I almost gave up looking at a store after 15 minutes of looking at bra. Couple years ago, I bought a Playtex bra, it’s fit better. I hate bra shopping!   :skull:

I used to see commercials, back in the 1960s and 1970s for the Playtex 24-Hour Bra.

I can tell you that band size makes a big difference. When I lost weight, I went from a 38 DD to a 36 DD. My cup size stayed the same (I'm older, which can make that happen). As a 38, my breasts looked huge, but much more average at a 36.

I had the same issues with my back that you did, except I was a J cup. I got breast reduction surgery and now I'm a D, but it fits my body type as I'm very tall (5"11). It was one of the best decisions I ever made!

I think D cup is quite average for a woman who isn't large. Of course a 32D has much smaller volume than 38D. But if your frame is bigger, those bigger breasts won't look too big for your body.

If you're geeky you can measure the volume of your breasts by water displacement. I found that my breasts have got 50% bigger in the last couple years. However because I gained 15 lbs I'm bigger overall, and they don't look big compared to my body.
