I do have trouble controlling my anger but my doctor told me that uncontrolled anger is not a symptom of Bipolar Disorder. Is that really true? :?

To my understanding, Bipolar can cause some people to get uncontrolled anger HOWEVER you don’t necessarily need to have that for diagnosis.

I'm already diagnosed with it.

It can occur during (hypo)mania. But i also don't believe it is an actual symptom of the disorder.

While rage may be a symptom of various disorders, one does not need to have any disorder to feel anger.

So I guess I just have anger issues. Sometimes I get so angry over anything I view as a personal attack against me that I feel like I would kill a person. Of course I don't because I know killing is wrong but I still feel an overwhelming feeling of wanting to hurt somebody and when I'm feeling very manic it's even worse.

It's actually very scary and I just don't know how to stop feeling that way. You can't just go through life avoiding people and incidents that upset you or piss you off.

I think being able to recognize that behavior in myself and why it is wrong has helped some with coping with it.
