I dont see the point of keeping a diary if no one is going to read it but me. I have some good ideas to write down but it may be too personal to share. So...whats the point?

Do you feel compelled to keep a diary and why?

I'm the same way as you. I try to write something, but not much happens (interesting, at least to me) in my life. I bought into the iOS app "Day One" but only enter anything in to it once in a while.

I try, and at times start, buy my mind wanders and I lose track then forget about it!

Some people write them so they can be read after they die, and others to organize thoughts privately.
I tried a few times but always forgot about it within a few days.

Yes thats true. I read my grandmothers diary after she died and I read the Kurt Cobain journals.

I've tried but I always end up being unsatisfied with what I write down so I toss them in the trash.

Writing my emotions out on paper doesn't seem to help me at all.

I wouldnt want to wait untill Im dead for someone to read my diary. I want to know a persons opinon of what I wrote down. Getting famouse for what I had written would be cool but I dont really want to be famouse, just rich.

I've made a few attempts to keep a diary, but do so little to write much on a daily basis. I don't think I've ever done a full year's worth of entries.

Yes. I received a journal from a friend as a birthday present last year. I haven't been writing in it every day. I just started again last week.

I don't really call it a diary, I call it a worry journal. I put down all my worries and thoughts down into the journal. Makes me feel alot better than i was before. :)

I've tried, but it didn't work the way I thought it would.

Honestly there's no way I could make it a daily thing. I do try to keep a weekly journal by hammering away in a word doc. Speaking of which, I missed this week.

I've thought about it because I have a bad memory. Just listing things that happen. Got new shoes. got a haircut. visited whatever place.
