Someone told me that she got billed for the 5150

But that's in United States

When I went to a job interview for suicide hotline operator, the interviewer explicitly specified that every call must involve an entire list of questions about the Mandated Reporter

Where I live, there is a free drop in counseling clinic

But you might not have that option

This might be a bad idea, but maybe if you call from a pay phone, the call will be harder to trace (please research this first if you decide to do it).

Thank you for your suggestions. I really appreciate it. Nothing's free here. I've noticed there are less pay phones since we're all carrying a phone. But you're right, though that might be a bit rash on my part. I'm in Canada so I don't get 5150.

It's heartening to hear from you and your thoughts on my situation. :)

Ezra, you nailed it. Thank you.
I'm curious - why do you not believe that could happen to me?

I think you’re a smart lady. I wish you would show the social workers how smart you are.

Sometimes, they can be smart enough to know you’re smart.

Ezra COULDNT believe that that happened to you.

Because he knows you’re smart and articulate.

I remember calling a local crisis line here that advertised they send plain clothes police officers and a mental health worker out to your home to talk and they come in an unmarked car. Of course that was a total lie and they arrived in a marked car and uniformed officers. They seemed unapologetic for explicitly lying on their website. A waste of 12 hours sitting in a s**t hole psych ward when I just needed someone to talk to. For this reason I only call anonymous crisis lines now or chat with crisis lines using a VPN so they can go f**k themselves if they want to bother and harass me.

I don't know how it is in Quebec but in Ontario even if you wanted a bed in a nursing home you would be waiting a million years to get into such a place due to a massive shortage of beds and long wait lists.

That's so evil! When they find out how much we suffer, they pile on more and more. It's a spider's web that I'm trying to avoid. Once caught, they go haywire with the pills which are incapacitating.

In Quebec, if I wanted a nice place to live I'd wait zillions of years. But one of those scary places - not so long, I think.

Social workers got my schizophrenic cousin a roommate, who was deaf-mute. They filled each others' needs. Is there a human on this planet I could live with?

Thanks but being smart isn't going to help much. Since my concussion my smarts are reduced. And I don't care about the real world. I want to sink into volumes of poetry - I must share this, which I love, it's so much more important than sweeping the floor -

Self as Goat in Tree
Mihaela Moscaliuc

Nine goats scamper up
the gnarly argan tree and graze it clean.
They ingest the wrinkled fruit whole,
though it’s the bitter pulp alone
that rouses their appetite for more.
Sated, they stare at the horizon
till branches wear thin and fall.
Farmers harvest goats’ droppings
to extract the pit rich in kernels of oil.
Haven’t you too wished yourself a goat
perched punch-drunk on a linden tree,
blasé about the gold you might s**t,
how it might serve both hunger and greed.
Haven’t you goaded yourself
to balance just a bit longer,
chew on some fugitive scents,
forget what a ditch the earth is.

I was expressing dismay over such a knee-jerk overreaction from them. And the duplicity of "just talking if you want". But now that you ask I can easily believe it unfortunately.

She was complimenting you, Ezra. She thought you were smart and perceptive.

When you “nail” something, that means you got it 100%.

I understood the first sentence and was pleased. Being a part of the social welfare system I've learned how things are. It's the reason why my parents have needed an attorney at times. As for the question asked, my statement was ambiguous and clarification was being sought.

Ye gods, is "nailed it" passé?

Ezra, don't mind me, I'm old and twittering phrases that were good when you were born.

Also, I'm perched punch-drunk on a linden tree. I should be entitled to that by now.

"Nailed it" goes back a long way. And is still used sometimes.

"Aced it", is a close equivalent that is used today. Or....you just "got it."

Think about the phrase "You hit the nail on the head," which is used a lot on WP.
