Hi!
I have been playing music for people who dance. There seem to be so much more than just the music playing. So much social things going on. I wanted to be social so went, with the musicians, to a pub. This was too much although I like talking with people.
I just hate the idea of only playing the music and then being asocial. There must be a middle way that works. I am also a newcomer ie. I started playing at the dance this year but the others have been there a lot longer. They speak about a lot of people I have never heard of or whatever and I don't need to hear all of this.
If you have some experiences in this then please give me some advice!

The first thing:

One should never demand that someone "give one" advice. That would never work.

One good piece of advice: talk about the music that you play. Its origins. Things like that.
