What are good methods to fight anxiety over world news?

I have two or three friends on social media whose perspectives on politics and current events I respect. I read their posts only to be informed, and leave mainstream media and everyone else's memes alone when I can't deal.

You can try finding something else to obsess over. :) Unfortunately aspies tend to always obsess about something. Try to find a healthy outlet for this nervous energy. You can start a new hobby like fitness, nutrition, investment or other ways to better yourself.

I cycle through a few different hobbies to occupy my mind. I also took classes. There's nothing like writing a paper that's due next day to get rid of other unwanted thoughts.
