I thought it would be nice to put somewhere all those things about my work and how it's going that other people

don't want to hear. I'm fed up of only ever talking to myself about the most important thing in my life. Don't feel

you need to read it all, though it would be nice if you added to it with your own ramblings about your own works

in progress.

Basil (mc) is a Dickens fan, I've tried to persuade him he isn't but he's been adamant now for five years. I'm going

to have to read them all. Other peoples characters do as they are told (fluffy sighs dramatically).

:D :D I think you will learn a great deal more than you, or any other sane person, ever wanted to know.

Managed the full four hours today (neck and back not as uncomfortable). Finished the first two sections of chapter

23, now for the big part. Can't believe this chapter has already taken fourteen hours to rewrite. Estimated word

count for this week so far? minus 500.

^I'm just getting started :)

So back on scheduled today, three hours. Yesterday was a write off, should have been four hours and I sat and

watched you tube instead :( I have worked out if I average four hours a day then I should get this draft done

before my next inspection (6 months). Why am I such a slow writer?

I finished 23 on Sunday. It took 21 hours altogether (for this draft).

I seem to be averaging 2-3 hours on work days and 5 on days off.

I'm glad I began this draft with the last third. It's the part where things need to make sense with all the changes

I've made to earlier on. Hope the unveiling isn't too obvious or comes across as silly and unbelievable. It's hard to

tell since I've known the answer for the last seven years :|

I need to have a better way of making changes as I go along with the next book. I waste too much time by not

being able to lay my hands on the right thing at the right time. None of my organisation overhauls have worked.

What's anyone's favourite part of a detective story? And what's your favourite thing in one, such as main character?

I’ve read a lot of detective stories, and my favorite part is when you find out what really happened and you weren’t expecting it at all.

I read a lot of detective novels of one sort or another and frequently like the beginning best. I enjoy authors who can convey a sense of place and that often goes away after the main plot gets going.

I’m a stickler for not having something from 1927 placed in a work set in 1917.

Even language, idioms.

Some are set in Australia. It would be nice to know if they are at all accurate. Jo Nesbo. The first Harry Hole book. Swedish.

I like the twists too. I original had two, one for the murderer and one connected to the main character. I was told

I needed more of this, now I have five main ones plus some small ones. I don't know if this is twist overload.
