Sit back and enjoy the most awesome piece of music ever to come out of a video game.

I'm a sucker for well arranged synthesised soundtracks. I love the soundtracks of many Squaresoft games, particularly anything done by Nobuo Uematsu, with Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger being highlights. From Nintendo, the best of their soundtracks for me have been from their classic Zelda and Metroid games. The Sonic 3 and Knuckles soundtrack is fantastic, and has been rumored to have been composed partially by Michael Jackson. Rare's Donkey Kong Country series was also consistently excellent. Command and Conquer, Doom and Warcraft 2 would be my favorites from the DOS era of PC games.

As for some more indie soundtracks, Umineko When They Cry has what I'd consider to be the finest visual novel soundtrack I've heard, with a huge number of absolute bangers. The Touhou series has a lot of great tracks, and is entirely composed by its games sole developer. And my most recent favorite, Celeste, had a memorable mix of standard and synthesised instrumentation.

Music is a hugely important aspect of video games for me. Super Mario Galaxy (the first one, not the second one) has some of my all-time favorite tracks from any video game. These are some of my favorites:

The one song from SMG2 that I actually like. Very similar to Space Junk (the first one on this list), calming yet mysterious.

Some other ones I love from non-SMG games:

Much better than the original green hill theme if you ask me

I prefer this version to any other version of this piece

As you can tell, I'm a very big Nintendo fan, with a bit of Playstation 2 thrown in for good measure.

Chris is even more badass, with his massive strenght against boulders

But Chris can't kick ass while wearing a fancy dress and high pointy heels the way Ada can!
