I've been playing the Touhou games since they re-released on Steam lately and I like some of the experimentation the composer does with instruments. I also like that he continues to use a lot of older synthesiser sounds you don't tend to hear in modern game soundtracks, yet they're recorded in high quality. It retains that old time videogame music feel, without feeling mawkish in the way a lot of other games, especially indie games try to recreate a deliberately retro style. (The recent and decidedly not-indie Dragon Quest XI comes immediately to mind with its attempt to be cute with terrible sounding synths). These are some of my favourites from what I've been playing (my liking the last one might be a case of Stockholm syndrome).

I loved Hollow Knight's music! My favourite track was the one that plays during the Grimm fight. The Nightmare variant I probably heard more than any other track in the game because it took me that many attempts to nail it.
