Something tells me they didn't purely make this change purely out of the goodness of their hearts.

Well, bless their hearts, as they often say in the South -- which means exactly the opposite.

Based their past actions. They often change their ways when they're forced to.

They’re actually one of the more steady-minded religious sects.

They have their weird ways—but who doesn’t?

They don’t pound their dogma into you.

It took me by surprise, considering how set in their ways the LDS is.

I have been a Lutheran for 17 years, after being an Evangelical for a brief period.

The main turning point in my theology is when the Episcopal Church (aka Anglican) ordained Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop. However, my view is that each denomination should decide for themselves on these issues.

That's very good news in my books. I think all churches should be doing this. It's 2019.

Wow! aren't they just such charitable folks, but still no entry for the parents of these kids...

Joseph Smith (the founder) believed that black people, gays and other "undesirables" were destined for hell and so forbidden from receiving membership into their "great" church

But lets not pick on the Mormons, I am pretty sure all fundamentalist christians think heaven will be identical to their church congregation and that everyone else is going to burn in hell.

"Fundis" whether christian or islamic should really be classified as cults

I concur, but people who oppose will always be around.

Well..

obviously it is the result of new divine revelation that they just now got... straight from God.

Surely you are not suggesting that it is the result of...something other a new divine revelation! :o

Long as you stay away from the FLDS or the more hardcore sects up around parts of Utah and Wyoming.

The most far out community (polygamy etc) is Colorado City in northern Arizona.
