It's a prickly pear cactus I dug out of the woods and planted a few months ago. :)

Fab.

My dad was obsessed with cacti. He had a huge collection all grown in greenhouses in our garden in the south of England. For several years he ran the local branch of the UK Cacti and Succulent Association and also organised the annual show. We used to trail all round the country going to cacti shows.

Sounds cool! 8)

I may develop an interest in planting all sorts of plants. I know roses are my favorites and I would love to learn how to make my own little rose garden. :flower:

I thought the title was a euphemism. I'm glad to be wrong!

Nice looking cactus!

Ha! I thought that, too.
Cool cactus.
We don't get any in the wild around here... mostly ferns and bracken.

Yup I was amazed to find that they grow wild in Florida. It makes sense because of the climate here. :)

If mine ever blooms a yellow flower I will take a pic for you guys. :flower:

I think cactus flowers are something special... they don't care to pop their heads out too often. But... I do spend a lot of time in the Canary Islands... I see loads in the wild there, and in people's gardens.
