Hey all, I was wondering if any of you also experience depressive episodes after a meltdown? I’ve noticed that whenever I have intense meltdown, my mood spirals downward and I feel extremely depressed for the next few hours. I’m uncertain whether or not this is typical after a meltdown.

Yes, for me the post-meltdown blues can last hours to days.

Yes. Meltdowns* and their association with depression were what pushed me into hunting down answers that ended with autism spectrum. The flood of adrenaline and whatever else hits me during a meltdown also leaves me exhausted, often for days or more.

*I didn't even know what they were, just that sometimes my logical brain would go completely offline and I'd go wildly socially inappropriate. Lizard brain flight/fight. Fear seems to be my main trigger, but lots of things = fear.
