With the new Dune movie now well into production (release set for late 2020), what classic sci-fi books do you think should be made into movies or TV shows?

Armada by Ernest Cline

Artemis by Andy Weir

The Forever War by Joe Halderman

Logan's Run by William Nolan and George Johnson

Uprising by Robert Heinlein

Time Salvager by Wesley Chu

The Shadow Out Of Time by HP Lovecraft

2061: Odyssey 3 and 3001: The Final Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke

The Mars Trilogy by Kim Robinson

The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury

Millenial Women by Virginia Kidd

The Women Men Don't See by Alice Sheldon

I haven't read many sci-fi books (I've only read them due to a film)

I'd love to see Clive Barker's Weaveworld made into a film ( not really sci-fi , more horror fantasy)

I'd like to see Guillermo Del Toro finally get a chance at making At The Mountains Of Madness (even though it's not really sci-fi, more IMO, sci-fi horror) into a movie, but given that no studio will let him do it alongside James Cameron, what could work is maybe having GDT film a Lovecraft biopic first (that's if any good scripts are floating around Hollywood) and if such a biopic is a hit, then maybe a studio will let him and James Cameron do At The Mountains Of Madnessafter.

You beat me to At The Mountains Of Madness.
As for other book-to-movie possibilities, I'd like to see E.E. Doc Smith's Lensmen novels made into a series of movies, involving intergalactic peace keepers at war with space faring organized crime. The law enforcement officers are the Lensmen; people gathered from all races who have been given a living crystal - or lens - that allows them to develop telepathic powers. The very notion of the "space opera" has been credited to E.E. Doc Smith, as have things such as tractor beams that are standard SciFi hardware today.

If no studio will let Guillermo Del Toro do At The Mountains of Madness, then maybe his planned remake of
Slaughterhouse 5 that GDT wants to do with Charlie Kaufman writing the screenplay for it.
