I had a pretty bad acid reflux in the middle of the night. What do people here do when they wake up to acid reflux?

Sit up til it goes away. Eat some Tums. Vow yet again not to eat within three hours of bedtime in the future.

Think about putting bricks back under the bed legs under the head of the bed.

Generally I take Prilosec. If the Acid Reflux is severe called Gerd, you find it very difficult to sleep and may have to sit up for a few hours and watch some TV or something for a few hours until the symptoms subside.

I have reflux so bad sometimes that it feels like I'll breathe fire.

But recently I took a course of Nexium (esomeprazole). It was like I didn't have reflux any more. I only had to take one tablet a day, before dinner. I've finished the course now and reflux has only happened again slightly. Recently I've discovered that Quick-Eze is available in forest berry flavour. So I've had some of those, they're like chewing a Starburst.

I'm seeing my doctor next month so I'll tell him what's been happening.
