But we know a whole bunch of people who get a bachelor’s in philosophy or even a PhD are not working day job in the field, right?
And if you’re interested in a field like phil., or anthropology, or art history, more power to you
, and I hope your only issues are how to graciously turn down speaking invites, when to accept offers at more prestigious universities, etc.
But just keep in mind that their are timing factors, baseline factors, etc. Be kind and matter-of-fact encouraging to those who are currently at lower career trajectory.
And more to life than just job and formal career.
