I'm gay and also consider myself an agnostic atheist for reasons similar to what others have expressed in this thread. There is currently no data that can be acquired after death, so I cannot possess the absolute certainty of atheism. I do not believe in the anthropomorphization of a spiritual deity, but I cannot definitively state what consciousness is and what may exist beyond it.

If there really is an answer, I can't help but think that it will be paradoxical to any current perceptions. Much like how it feels to contemplate the non-intuitive interactions of particles at a quantum level versus the intuitive interactions at a macro level of everyday human experience.
