A berserker is a fighter who is totally in rage and has kind of an adrenaline rush or something like that. It's a strange mental state. He doesn't feels fear or pain anymore and becomes unbelievable fast and strong while being this way.
I think something of that mental state has paralleles to the states that autistic people can be e.g. it causes kind of selective mutism. It's not as often that people are this way.

I know a state of adrenaline rush when I can achieve the impossible and defeat an enemy I seemingly have no chance against - but in my case it's rather mental than physical.

It's what I mean. It's first of all a mental state that you get in once you realize a really high danger with no other chances than to fight. The ancient berserkers seemed to know how to become this way. I guess the German religion did care fighting as much because it's a special thing once you are in this state.

Actually, my rationality and cool-headedness contribute to what I described in my previous post here.
I call it anti-panic.
The downside is, usually I get sick the next day.

This is pretty similar to my experience, although it's hard to separate the feeling of being mentally invincible and in control from the feeling of being physically invulnerable.

Similar to what you describe, it's like an anti-panic.

And I usually crash out hard once the threat is dealt with.
