The high latitudes of Eurasia were still owned by rival hominids like the Neanderthals, Densiovians, and even remnant Homo Erectus.
Later some groups of anatomical moderns ventured north into central asia, and the turned both east and west- invaded Europe and the far east and drove the Denisovians and the Neanderthals to extinction and replaced them in the high latitudes as well (though not without doing some interbreeding with the rival hominids). These descendants got lighter in skin color. And then the descendants of the anatomical moderns who ventured north, then ventured south again and over ran areas on the shore of the Indian Ocean in more recent millenia and centuries.

Yes you are right, the genetic contribution of Neanderthals to "caucasians" and Denisovans to east Asians likely contributed to lighter melanin and different physical/physiological characteristics to help adapt to colder climates.

This is mostly correct but there's confusion over whether speakers of Dravidian languages actually constitute a different ethnic group or race. For example the majority of Dravidians are genetically (and often physically) indistinguishable from the populations in north India largely due to blending over thousands of years (really not surprising as geography dictates how genes flow). Dravidian is not an australoid language, it's thought to be related to the now extinct languages of Sumer and Elam and might be distantly connected to other "agglutinated" languages as far apart as Turkish, Hungarian and even Korean.

Yes. the first wave of anatomical modern humans to migrate out of Africa hugged the shores of the Indian ocean. Moved along the bottom of Asia- through India, and southeast Asia, New Guinea, and some finally reached Australia, and became the Australian Aboriginies . And they all retained the dark dark skin of Equitorial Africans.

Yes, I have noticed that Australian aboriginies do seem to have a more blue-black look to their skin than do dark skinned Africans. Don't know why that is.

Thank you! That was wonderful.

So sorry to have hijacked the thread. But, I thank you both for the answers. I also love their stories and lore. In that respect they put me in mind of First Nations people of North America.

No problem. I think that the original topic had pretty much been exhausted.

American Indians are usually thought of as being a big exception to the rule that you have more melanin in your skin the closer you live to the equator because native americans don't vary in skin color as much as do old world people, and even the Indians right on the equator (Ecuador, and the Amazon Basin) do not have the super dark skin that Africans and native Australians have. And that's to be expected because the Amerinds were all recent migrants from Arctic Asia during the Ice Age.

However they have found genetic markers on Chedder Man in England, that show that the first anatomically modern Europeans had black skin (but also had blue eyes). Very strange looking compared to modern Europeans, but actually not so odd looking when compared to modern pure blood Australian Aboriginies.

I think Australians have a lot of really beautiful people, in general. Unique and unique coloring, people, wildlife, everything.

Not sure if you read the article I posted earlier but the earliest evidence of people in the Americas show they appeared to bypass a colder northern route and travelled by sea to equatorial America (Mexico-Columbia). Not surprisingly they are dark skinned people like Australian aborigines and they clung to land close to the equator in South America. The Siberians who poured into America after the end of the ice age via a land bridge displaced the original inhabitants in equatorial south America and that phenotype is largely gone.

Aboriginal like people travelled as far north as Japan (Ainu) and Taiwan but again thousands of years of exposure to mongoloid people has changed their phenotype.

Again this phenotype was displaced by lighter skinned arrivals
