I meant he limited the deduction on "state taxes that I paid the previous year."

I can only deduct $10,000.

Very diverse cast. Much personality.

I would NEVER, in a million years, vote for Trump.

I don't believe he has it in his mind to adhere to the Bill of Rights.

The fact that he wants to become "President for Life" like Xi Jingping says enough.

If he succeeded the old fart would probably drop after a few years and then pathe the way for an even worse dictator wannabe to take over our country and our nukes, then the whole world will be f****d! :|

Likely, you don't even itemize anymore, so it's a non-issue (unless you have a huge income, and/or mega expensive home).

Likely, you're subtly enjoying the lower tax brackets.

It looks like this year I might not itemize.....but that $10,000 thing is going to gnaw at me.

I always thought President for Life is nothing but an elected fascist dictatorship. And I've got no love for fascism, communism, or socialism.

Theodore Roosevelt's Corpse 2020!

A possibly autistic zombie president with a comically squeaky voice, cool hats, and a fondness for pets and small children? Has written books about topics other than himself and did not keep Hitler's speeches on his nightstand?

Positively wholesome and comes with real hair.

Pity you can't go and vote on the old 1916 Bull Moose ticket but I think the old Prohibition Party is still batting round someplace. They were a Christian organization partly organized by women's suffrage as a way to decrease domestic violence by decreasing drink (and it worked too.)

I'd love to see some old-school fringe political party win and dump the Republican/Democrat nonsense.

I agree, the two-party system is tearing us apart! I don't want to repeat what we went through in the 1860's or 1960's!

... but maybe it's destined to happen regardless? Like World War 3? :(

There are a ton of people who choose TRUMP because they think Democrats abandoned them.

All Trump-supporters are the same

Borromeo is a Trump-supporter.

Ergo, all Trump-supporters are like Borromeo.

*reads Borromeos posts*

Call me a cynic, but I'm quite convinced it would be worse.

[Mod]

Let me start by saying that I do not want to quash discussions about the attractions (or lack thereof) of an ideology, be it Trumpism or communism, or the merits (or lack thereof) of a political figure such as Trump.

However, as per PPR rules:

Quote:
While it is acceptable to attack and debate beliefs (political, religious etc) it is not acceptable to make generalised attacks on the adherents of those beliefs. It is acceptable to say that Republicanism, Liberalism, Christianity, Islam are stupid but not acceptable to make generalised attacks saying that Republicans, Liberals, Christians or Muslims are morons. You could say that some of these people are stupid because of (reason) but not make generalised attacks on groups of people. Similarly you could not say "Christians are morons" or "Muslims are terrorists" or "People on welfare are bums". Confine your attacks to the beliefs and politics, not the people holding them.

Now I'd like to try, where possible, to interpret remarks as if they were phrased in the way the rules permit. A comment like "Mr X's supporters like him because he is just like them. He is racist." could easily be read as predominantly a criticism of Mr X.

While you might be able to jump through those hoops for one comment on its own, the totality of the OP's comments is clearly unacceptable and impossible to justify. Consequently, I think it is best if this thread is locked.
