Though I have many, many reasons to dislike Ilhan Omar and to believe she is a danger to America, racism is a danger as well. Policies (Omar's stock in trade) can be ignored or decided in the courts, even though that is not how a constitutional republic works, (hence danger to America.) But racism is fundamentally opposed to right reason and the morals of the Christian religion. Granted, reason is now a buzzword and American Christianity, if understood as a separate unit from Christianity proper, is generally a hoax.

The whole thing is messed up.

And if Trump is Biff, is there a Muffy involved too?

Omar isn't an entire race unto herself... She is one woman (who married her own brother to circumvent US immigration law, and spat in the face of her own religion to do it ). If you showed me a video of South Carolinians shouting 'send THEM back,' I'd agree with you. That's racist.

We are all immigrants, the big difference is that those of us who don't always agree with everything, aren't bitching about the country. She's a very recent immigrant who is bitching about the country. Just because she's black doesn't mean she get's a pass on her ingratitude. When you're unhappy, what do you do? You are not a tree, you move. People move to different homes, states, countries all the time. The problem with geographical cures is that wherever you go, there you are. If you are miserable one place, chances are you'll be miserable in a new place. Ilhan Omar is a miserable, contentious individual. She'll be miserable no matter where she is and her approval ratings have shown that the public is catching onto this.


This is the very definition of equality. Black, white, brown if you don't like it, move. Because there's a lot of blacks, whites and browns who are living decent lives because of the rights this country gave our ancestors. Am I getting everything I want? Nope... right now I'm in the fight of my life against an organization that is discriminating as all hell. But, things can always get worse. If someone were to tell me to go back home, my choice would be Greece. Um, I'm proud of my Greek heritage. I think the coasts are gorgeous. But, it's a s**thole. That's why my great-grandfather left. So, I'll stay put and count my blessings instead of picking apart my hardships.

Omar does not hate America or Israel or anyone else. She's trying to make things better in the face of injustice, and a big part of that comes from money being in politics. Omar is a Justice Democrat, and getting money out of politics is the whole point of the group.

You think she's ungrateful, Persephone, for simply pointing out the horrible stuff most people either don't know about or prefer to ignore. She's pointing it out because she wants to make it better.
