In stressful situations, sometimes i touch objects over and over again. The government gave me disability for it and called it Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I was reading about autism, and I read that often, autism can be misdiagnosed as OCD. So I was wondering, is it typical of some autistic people to touch things over and over again? Or do you guys think that this is a separate thing?

It may be your form of stimming.

There was a study that showed a primary difference between "repetitive behaviors" in autism and OCD, mentioned in this thread:

The primary difference is: in autism, these behaviors help one calm down while in OCD they cause even more distress.
