How many soldiers are 73?
If his medical tests show he is healthy, then his weight should not be an issue. At least he is not a smoker like the last potus.

You might want to rethink that. If Trump dies in office, we get Pence. Here's a guy who's more competent and experienced. He can get more bad s**t done because he knows the system -- and he's a crazy evangelical Christian.

I'm rooting for Trump to adopt a healthier lifestyle, myself.

Speaking of the lesser evil... I always cringe in horror when people wish Trump would be removed in some way while still in office. Pence could do much more harm in one year than Trump in another four.

Hate is often short-sighted.

I'm in the "obese" range myself. 5 foot 5, 180 lbs.

William Howard Taft was a great Chief Justice. He sucked as a President. He weighted about 355 pounds at his peak.

BMI itself is not a very reliable indicator - there's muscle mass vs fat and some people have high bone density (heavy bones).

How much were you weighting in that picture of yours?

Probably similar to what I weigh now. At the most, 10 pounds lighter. I've been in the 175-180 range in weight for a long time.

The picture was taken in 2008, when I went on a cruise to Alaska. I said 2009 previously----but I realize it was actually 2008.

You look big-boned and ... stocky to me (no offence), not obese - for what is worth.

I've always been known as "stocky."

I'm a little chubby----have been most of my life. I weighed in the 140's when I was doing marathons 20 years ago---some people thought I looked too thin.

I have a belly....that's hard to get rid of. I can definitely do more exercise. I'm just pretty lazy.

As long as you're still healthy and feisty (dare I mention the Wolfman? :P )

Yes, I'm intentionally derailing, I find it ridiculous that people pick on Trump's weight and hair of all things :D

Trump's physical health is not the main issue. I agree with that.

Can we retire this "we will only get Pence" mantra already? It was idiotic from the get go, and now its trite and idiotic.

Maybe they shouldn't get rid of Trump, nor wish ill via a coronary on him, but "getting Pence" is an argument for impeachment, and not against it.

On the domestic front Pence is less popular than Trump and thus cant do any of the harm Trump can do. The only thing on the domestic front Pence is capable of doing is serving up the White House to the Dems on a silver platter by alienating even Trump's base.

Pence IS capable of doing stuff on the foreign front, and will do stuff, but that stuff will solely consist of undoing the damage Trump has already done to foreign policy. Pence will restore our pre Trump ties with our NATO allies (which exactly what every GOPer and every Dem and every American, and every one on the planet who isn't Putin wants).

So "getting pence" has many upsides, and has no downsides.

Pence could do some serious damage to the environment and also for women's health issues. Trump seems kind of hit or miss with the issues. Pence could be more focused. But at this time, in the presidential cycle, he probably couldn't hurt the country too badly.

In general, our organs have 3-4 x the capacity necessary to sustain life. Symptoms don't show up until 2/3 to 3/4 of the organ function is destroyed. Therefore, there could be deterioration on a major scale in someone and no one would know until the kettle blew.

What leads you to believe he will do those things? I have no love of evangelical Christian politicians. I saw what he did in Indiana. Yeah, I'll say it again. People like Pence are way more dangerous than Trump.

Trump Puts on a Few Pounds, Enters Obese Range
By Roberta Rampton and Julie Steenhuysen

WASHINGTON/CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has gained weight over the past year and is now in the obese range, although he remains in "very good health overall," according to results of an annual presidential physical examination conducted back in February. Trump, known for his love of hamburgers and well-done steaks and an aversion to the gym, was warned by his doctor last year that he needed to change his diet and start to exercise.
But the 72-year-old president weighed in at 243 pounds (110.2 kg), up from 239 pounds (108.4 kg) in early 2018. The added pounds pushed Trump's body mass index into the obese category, which increases the risk of heart disease and is associated with a higher risk for cancers. "He's definitely carrying too much weight," said Dr. Matthew Sorrentino, a preventive cardiologist at the University of Chicago Medicine. Trump's doctor said the president's health was fine. "After taking into account all the laboratory results, examinations and specialist recommendations, it is my determination that the president remains in very good health overall," his physician Sean Conley said.

Last year, Trump's doctor had directed him to try to lose 10 to 15 pounds (4.5-6.8 kg) by eating better and exercising. While aides said he chose fish over red meat more often during the year, his main source of exercise remained golf.
Trump's resting heart rate was 70 beats per minute (bpm), up from 68 bpm last year. His blood pressure was 118/80 compared to 122/74. "His cholesterol levels are not awful, but somewhat high," said Dr. Ranit Mishori, a professor of family medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Trump's doctor said he increased his dose of a statin, a drug to reduce cholesterol. Trump's total blood cholesterol was 196, down from 223 last year. A breakdown of the president's cholesterol numbers showed that his high-density lipoprotein, or HDL, the "good" or protective form of cholesterol, was 58, down from 67 last year. His low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the so-called "bad" cholesterol, was 122, down from 143 last year. High LDL levels can lead to a buildup of plaque in the arteries, which can cause a heart attack or stroke. "His LDL is still mildly elevated if you look at averages," said Sorrentino. Sorrentino said the medication reduces the risk of a heart attack or stroke by "maybe 30 to 40 percent, but it doesn't eliminate the risk. You still have cardiovascular risk. We've just made that a little bit lower by being on a statin."

Trump did not undergo any procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia, his doctor said, meaning he did not have a colonoscopy. The brief memo did not comment on whether Trump had been given a cognitive assessment - the focus of much attention last year, when the White House sought to put to rest questions about his mental fitness for office.

his fans say he is healthy as a horse, but i can tell y'all from personal experience, that your health can be good UNTIL IT IS NOT. bad health tends to sneak up on one, and then cascade unless heroic measures are taken and even then it is a gamble. the orange menace is playing with fire by not taking better care of himself especially at his age when the body is far less tolerant of poor self-care than for a younger man. plus he is technically "commander-in-chief" thus should be held to a higher standard, NO MATTER HIS AGE.
