Merry Little Christmas, Judy Garland

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow

That gets me every time. ^

Wild is the Wind - Nina Simone (although Cat Power's version is very powerful and I might prefer it).

The Nina Simone version feels a bit desperate while Cat Power's presentation is romantically wistful and more to my liking.

I'm glad we can agree.

Indeed, I am glad as well.

Agreement is not easily found on WP these days, at least I have not seen too much of it.

1812 Overture - something about cannons & church bells at the same time tears me apart.

It is an emotionally stirring classic piece of music, especially when performed by a full orchestra accompanied by pyrotechnic cannon blasts. I always loved it when it was played during the grand finale of a 4th of July fireworks display.

Two songs by the Beatles:

In My Life: is touching bringing back memories of happier days.

I Will: causes my heart to ache and eyes to water.

the buketov arrangement with adult chorale and boy's choir and pipe organ, adds additional layers of feel.
