It would sure be nice if this were more widely noticed.
It should also be noted that you are speaking as someone who was severely disabled as a small child -- severely disabled enough to have been diagnosed back in the days when the definition of "autism" was limited to very severe disability. In other words, the strength-based approach isn't just for the highest-functioning Aspies.
