Is it necessary to lift weight to lose weight? I’ve been eating a primarily sugar free and plant based diet and doing cardio only because I don’t want to be muscular but have a feminine build. I’m currently a size 18 and want to drop one or two more dress sizes.

It's pretty damned difficult for women to build serious muscle. Lots of women fear getting bulky but it takes some serious work to get to that stage, like years and years of regular heavy lifting and eating a lot of protein.

Lift weights; you won't get bulky and the muscle you do build will burn more calories at rest than fat. If you want to boost your metabolism, lift weights and build more muscle. Also, for what it's worth, having a little muscle on you won't lose you your feminine build, it might even enhance it. Barbell hip thrusts are magical.

Your weight is constantly going up, down, or the same

Because of that, you can lose weight without lifting weights

No, just eat less.

I find it helps to measure out portions to eat. Don't eat from a big bag!
I cook single servings. Which means I have cook more if I'm still hungry.

There are various activities to help losing weight, choose which is best for you. Weightlifting is seriously underestimated as a weight loss aid.
