Not that I magically figured out my love life overnight mind you, I just thought it worth posting that I feel like I'm blessed with a healthy dose of perspective on some good people in my life.

I'm really not the poster child for such a philosophy, but I posted my thread as a reminder to be patient with people you love, as far as I know that's what's actually important anyway. I read a lot of posts all over the place about favoring certain types of people over others romantically but I think this subject is more about how we all treat each other.

So pleased you are feeling better.

"favoring certain types of people over others"

The Equal employment opportunity commission only applies when you are at work

You can choose your own friends and dates. It is not "discrimination".

Autistics have a competitive disadvantage, looking for friends and dates. Nobody has to be your friend.

I was talking about the total opposite of social Darwinism though. I don't have to play zero sum games that ignore everyone's individual worth in favor of instant gratification.

^^^^ Wow. Impressive statement. I don't know how to say it in text to let you know I mean it and am not being sarcastic. So please excuse the clumsy response.

Likewise, I wish people would take a minute to internalize some actual positive thoughts here. It's not like my response to some s**t happening is entirely complaints. If it were all bad, would I even be alive to say so? I feel like there's little to no perspective here. We should be thinking of everyone as human beings instead of weighing people's needs differently.

^^^^ I have found positive thoughts lots more fun than negative ones, although it took me a long time to see that. Discussion of issues is good, occasional rants, but mostly enjoying and appreciating the good stuff.

Yep. We have to enjoy the good stuff. Nature.

When we get too lost in philosophical speculation, we lose sight of the "forest and the trees."

Or lost in the number of problems we have.

I'm squarely still lost there as far as I can tell. I have to go to sleep rather than consider this post any further. :|

I think my core metaphysical issue in this context is that I'm more of a shrubbery.

To be clear, this is all just one big issue where I'm concerned, it's more that I'm seeing some positive changes rather than experiencing any per se. That said, I guess I'm more at peace with being alone for now.
