Now that I think of it, that's an issue here too... sort of. It's a thing in all the livable places, as in places that have the needed services at least somewhat close enough. And if you can't get a car for one reason or the other, you have to live in the bit more expensive areas, unless you're in really good shape and can ride a bike or something for long trips on daily basis or are fine with being homebound since the public transportation is poor in those cheaper, dying places.

Let me give you guys another example of what I hate about the US. Not that anyone is really gonna care because like I said before Americans will act shocked for about 10 minutes and then go about their lives as if this stuff isn't happening in their own country.

I wouldn't say I'm happy about torture, either. But, I really don't know what I can do. Hating is like "drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." You could storm the place and get shot, but that's not smart either. Since I'm powerless, I just make sure that I don't do anything like that.

We also have a president who likes to side with war criminals.

I don't tend to believe that. I do believe that the president won't kill them or lock them up and throw away the key.

But, for the sake of argument, let's say he does side with war criminals. What should I do? I am for my personal freedom above all else. I don't want the government's help for anything except global safety. Don't let someone drop a bomb on top of my head, I'll take care of myself on the ground. That's it. Should I cut off my nose to spite my face and vote for Bernie Sanders who wants to control everything? Ten years down the road when I'm standing in a line for my state issue white underwear and flip flops ( if they haven't all been given out already, in which case I'll be wearing the same ones from two years ago ) should I feel smug, morally superior?
If you like socialism, start practicing now. Stand out behind Piggly Wiggly and beg for fat back and then take it home, dig around outside for some wild onions, skin a possum and throw that in too. Then, share that. That is the ultimate outcome of leaders like Bernie Sanders. It's happened everywhere they have instituted true socialism and we won't get a pass, or better figure it out just because we are the US.

It doesn't really matter what any of us think cause them cruel old ladies known as The Fates have something instore for all of us. Perhaps they are finally ready to cut the thread on Trump? Or maybe they will rip out a patch of the entire country? :skull:

Sorry to disagree. Have a look outside the US. There are gazillions leaders around the world who are even more leftish than Bernie Sanders and still run a country beautifully.

A very individualistic way to put it. Of course, you could also try to protest, but why bother?

Well, virtually the entire Western world is more to the left than America, so I guess you can pick some random leaders there.

That we don't have universal health care.

To the left of America, yes. To the left of Bernie? Not as much.

To the left of America, yes. To the left of Bernie? Not as much.

Jacinda Ardern - New Zealand
Emmanuel Macron - France
Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón - Spain
António Luís Santos da Costa - Portugal
Stefan Löfven - Sweden
Mette Frederiksen - Denmark

Even Dutch PM Mark Rutten (central right) is more leftish than Bernie Sanders.

Excluding Macron, the other leaders are "Social Democrats". Bernie Sanders is a Democrat. Mind you, there are no Socialists mentioned here; nor any Communists. But I do agree that Bernie is closer to Social Democrats than other Dems.

To see the implementation of leftist policy in America, look no further than California, with their rolling blackouts, homelessness, medieval diseases and hostile business environment.
