11 people were wounded in a shooting rampage early sunday just off Bourbon st in the French quarter in an area thick with tourists at 3 am.

Two of the injured were hospitalized in critical condition,officers were in the area when the shooting began but no officers were among the wounded.A suspect was spoken to but no arrests have been made,the shooting took place just off Bourbon st with a heavy police presence due to a football game.

Any ideas on why the shooter was pulling the trigger?

As far as know I know at this point they have made no arrests so they have no suspect to obtain motive from.

They have detained a person of interest but that person has not been called a suspect
