The video popped into my feed, and what interests me is I knew who the grabber was going to be immediately on seeing her. Might be interesting for people here who are poor at picking up such things to have a look and see if you can tell who it's going to be. Thumbnail spoils it so I've just put the link. I wonder what she said.

:P

She absolutely reeks of desperation. I'm not surprised he chose that moment to walk away, I bet he noticed.

I didn't know about that one.

Trump is so weird. I guess he does it to put people off balance.

EDIT: Wait, comments say it's fake?

Interesting how she crossed herself first as if she was intending to be somewhat confrontational in her approach, and seeking strength.

She was behaving very different from the others in the crowd. I knew which one it was gonna be.

I think the lady was in some sort of “rapture.” She meant no harm.

Got a little too excited, nearly pulled his arm out of its socket.

"Pope Francis apologizes for slapping woman's hand after she grabbed him

In his New Year's Day Angelus address, Francis said: "Love makes us patient. At times we lose our patience - me too. And I am sorry for the bad example I gave yesterday.""

BUT, WHAT DID THE WOMAN SAY?

This news went around the world. But interestingly, so far, no one has been able to identify what the woman was saying. I've checked European websites, Asian websites. I have frankly not been able identify the language used by the woman. It's frustrating that millions and millions of people have seen the news, made all kinds of comments, yet no one even cared about what the woman was saying. It's very odd that no one has stepped forward to identify the language spoken by the woman. I hope it'll come out at some point.

Pope Francis apologized

I think he should invite her to dinner.

^ I agree.

I mean, I get that it might have been annoying, maybe even startling, but he should have been more patient and handled it better. He is after all the Pope.

She seemed kinda desperate to me.

I feel like she was in some sort of religious rapture.

The impression I got is that she was hurting him. At 83 he might have significant arthritis. You just don't yank on an 83 year old person's arm that way. I believe his reaction was purely instinctive.

I saw this today too. I've never really gone in much for the Pope or his station, after all he's just a man. He had shaken hands, maybe he could hear what she was saying and decided to walk away at that point. People don't always respect boundaries, his walking away was a boundary. But, I guess she thought her needs were more important.

People are all just human, she screwed up and he screwed up back. She shouldn't have grabbed him either.
