Popeye,Escobar hitman dies

Jhon Jairo Velasquez,AKA Popeye,who worked for drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and said he participated in as many as 300 murders,died yesterday,the goverment said.

Velasquez died of stomach cancer in the early morning hours thursday,the prison system said.

Following his release from prison in 2014,he featured frequently in the media and had over a million youtube subscribers.

He was jailed again in 2018 on extortion charges.
