Trump vows to boost trade ties, defense equipment sales to India

More than 100,000 people on Monday packed the world’s largest cricket stadium in India, where President Trump kicked off his first official visit by vowing to boost trade between the two countries and announcing plans to sign an agreement to sell $3 billion worth of US military helicopters.

The president told the massive crowd at Motera Stadium that he was in India to “expand our partnership of incredible power and potential,” saying that he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss “strong and fair partnerships to build a safer and more prosperous world.”
