I find now that socialization isn’t just difficult for me but also exhausting to the point I feel like it’s always going to be like this. It doesn’t matter if it’s with library patrons, family members, the few friends I have, my therapist, and retail cashiers. The interactions all feel like chores and I get mentally drained from them. It also affects me physically as well. I will stutter and stammer and my head will ache.

I go through phases of that. Sometimes worse than others.

I have it like that, too. When I'm generally low on energy, it gets worse. Lots of alone time spent on things I enjoy helps. Currently, stargazing is my favorite.

And sometimes they act like they are doing you a favor for talking to you

Sometimes it bothers me when someone is talking too loudly

My detractors think I should either shut myself away or become an “useful idiot” for their causes despite how I won’t benefit from them at all.

I am similar to you in this.

I think my detractors are wrong and need to shut the hell up.

Perhaps, you should prove your detractors wrong.

Can you think of something you can do to help them shut up?

If that arcade that’s supposed to open in my city ever does, I can try to socialize there and prove my detractors wrong.

I do notice that some of my detractors have been arguing with each other for having different views. My current worst detractor has especially been throwing a whine fit and he’s also upset I don’t bow down to him.

Do you consider me to be one of your "detractors"? If so, please PM me and we can agree to stay out of each other's threads.

I've tried to give you what I think might be useful advice, but I realize I might be missing the mark because I have not experienced full-blown clinical depression myself.

I suspect that the same is true of most (though perhaps not all) of the people you are referring to as "detractors," whether or not you include me in that category. I doubt that most, if any, of them actually mean you any harm.

I'm sorry if any of my posts have worsened your distress.

I wish I lived in a place where I could see more stars

I don’t consider you to be a detractor. I am sorry if I gave you that impression.
