Or else you might get pinched. You don't want that.

Its a US thing.

Or its US and Ireland thing because of Irish Americans.

You wear green on St. Patricks Day.

Or the snakes will bite you. Or ……..sumpin' .

So...when St. Pat drove the snakes from Ireland, they swam to the US?

No pinching allowed this year. Unless it is done with a 12 inch pair of sanitized tongs while wearing gloves.

Ah, thanks. Never heard of that one before. Didn't even know it was St. Patrick's Day!

I think it's a rude and nasty American tradition. Just being touched without someone's consent when you have sensory issues is bad enough, but pinching hurts! NTs might not think think they're pinching hard, or that the other person is exaggerating their pain and discomfort, but they don't know that because they aren't the other person. And people think we lack empathy.

And I just looove the way people celebrate Irish culture by getting sloppy drunk while dressing and acting like demeaning stereotypes.

To be honest, I relate much more to banshees than I do leprechauns or unicorns or whatever. Banshees are female spirits from Irish folklore that wail and scream a lot, and are omens of death. I can definitely scream like a banshee, but if I dressed like one, even for Halloween, I doubt people would know what I was supposed to be.

Isn't National Green Day celebrated in the morning of the first day of next month where everyone has to dress in green when they go to work with the most rediculous clothing the better?
