Usually I write a list of things that I need to get done then feel down because I only get a few done in a fortnight and the list gets longer rather than shorter.

Since I never seem to catch up I thought I'd try things from a less depressing angle and celebrate what I get done.

Today I spent five hours working on my novel, and I walked round to my mum's house to drop of the eggs I bought for her yesterday.

Woodwork mostly. Got about half done on one of three frames I have to make but there is the chance of more woodcutting in the next couple of days which will please the neighbours no end!

Listened to an online presentation about labor law for 40 minutes, made magnolia desserts, read my daily dose of manga and walked for half an hour around the house.

Proved my suspicion that buckwheat flour isn’t suitable for pastry via experimentation, put the bins out, crushed all the greenfly on the roses between my fingers, watered the garden, made dinner, read my current book for ~an hour.
Also drank a heroic amount of tea.

^ Tea is the best drink ever! I haven't used buckwheat flour before, but as far as i know less flour=stickier dough=more delicious pastries. Also i am searching for gluten free pastries now.(can you tell i am passionate about food :D)

^ Omg i just saw that post and those sound absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing it! Now i wish there was a cooking thread since i also wanted to share a recipe, partly because i am curious if people would like food from a different culture :D (and partly because i am proud of our extremely rich cuisine)

^ There is a cooking tips thread dear_one started some weeks ago somewhere... maybe a new specifically recipe sharing thread would be better though? Not sure.

Work, mostly. And continuing tomorrow. Probably won't be doing anything all that productive today anymore. Meh.

I'm on my gap year, so I'm mainly going through self-improvement rituals (do 4 lessons on Duolingo, read 1 EM article, 10 minutes of vocal exercises, 4x8 weight exercises, etc.) a day. With that said, I'm getting a lot of practice baking custards and tarts, which is kind of an accomplishment.

Lots of cleaning, on someone else's behalf
Laundered bedding, and a zillion towels
Played catch with my dog, outside
Talked to my brother from 3 m apart
Had tea and an omelette
Starting to organise supper (chicken fried rice, or chicken and rice casserole?)
Wrapping gifts
