More China pressure: World leaders demand wet markets be shut down
Scientists estimate that 60-75% of emerging diseases are 'zoonotic,' or originating from animals.

Amid an escalating war of words between Australia and China provoked by the global spread of the coronavirus, international pressure is building on China to close its wildlife "wet" markets, a notorious source of infectious diseases jumping from animals to humans.

As global health experts were learning about the eruption of COVID-19 in the Chinese industrial city of Wuhan in January, Beijing ordered a temporary shutdown of wet markets, followed by a "permanent" ban in February.

In mid-April, China's wet markets reopened.

This response follows a pattern set during the 2003 SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak, when the Chinese government first shut down the markets, but later reopened them because of the very high Chinese demand for domestic and exotic meat consumption and the use of animal body parts for medicinal and aphrodisiac purposes.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison is calling upon the U.S., France, Germany and other member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) to support an independent investigation into the origin of COVID-19, a demand he is expected to reaffirm at the May 17 WHO assembly.

Australia is going to be just one of many countries that begin a "great decoupling" from China. The Chinese Communist Party will continue to censor and bully, because it's all they have left.

Australia is unable to decouple it's economy from China's. We are too dependent.

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says there is something “really frightening about China” under President Xi Jinping with the regime becoming an evermore “aggressive and dangerous power”.

“You know the really frightening thing about China,” Mr Bolt said.

“It's not that it’s just threatening us with trade bans to make us shut up about wanting an independent inquiry into how this coronavirus started.

“What's really frightening is how many other countries China is threatening. Neighbours and friends”.

Mr Bolt said a recent press conference involving China’s foreign ministry spokesman portrayed “a real sign of how many countries China is now bullying”.

“New Zealand. Japan, Vietnam, more. That's the bigger picture”.

Australia should threaten China with taking back Port of Darwin: Christensen

Quote:
LNP MP George Christensen said when responding to the coronavirus, Communist China “corralled the problem for themselves, and sent (the virus) across the world”.

Mr Christensen has called China’s recent trade actions against Australia a “bastard act,” and said it was far “too convenient and too much of a coincidence” that only weeks after the government called for a global inquiry into COVID-19, for China to then threaten tariffs.

China has given the nation’s barley producers ten days before potentially imposing close to an 80 per cent tax on its barley imports.

“These are not the actions of a reputable trading partner”.

This comes as an ongoing committee into the need for diversification in Australia’s trade relationships – chaired by Mr Christensen – is preparing to call on the ambassador to give testimony.

“China’s got form on this sort of coercion when it comes to trade and mixing trade with politics".

Mr Christensen told Sky News hosts Alan Jones and Graham Richardson Australia should consider using the clause in the Port of Darwin lease contract with China which renders the deal null and void in the case of a national security emergency.

“If we don’t get the beef and barley back pronto and stop talking about other industries, we can actually take some action of our own, then it is a trade war”.

This is a very good time, due to the CV, to re-orient our international trade deals.
Australia needs to ween itself from Nazi china's teat and diversify to other countries such as India, Vietnam and Indonesia.
It is in the process of doing so.
It has been doing so.

Big business may want to kowtow to the chinese yuan, at the expense of our national sovereignty, but Scott Morrison is upholding Australia's integrity, in the face of economic bullying from a totalitarian government.

The free world can't but see the naked face of Nazi china, and there is a group realisation that allies need to strengthen together against thuggish intimidation.

Why is the ccp acting so destructively?
There has been a suggestion that by antagonising the free world and having international opinion turn against china, it will harden nationalistic feeling of the chinese people.
It has been suggested that in this way, the ccp is trying to maintain its grip on power.
To me, this makes the most sense, since it is difficult to believe the ccp is as incompetent in international diplomacy that their actions suggest.

In the meantime,
Australia will be used as an example of what will happen to nations which don't grovel to the corrupt economic power of the ccp.

Personally, I think they have made a big mistake which even the big multinationals/businesses, with their eyes glazed over by greed, can't help but see.
Now is the time to further implement a new trading paradigm which minimises the ability of a totalitarian government to bully/intimidate.
Or not.

BTW, it was not Sancho Panza who tilted at windmills.
He was the level-headed one.
It was Don Quixote.
Perhaps the western universities didn't do such a good job with the chinses international students who paid for their degree. 8O

America has asked Israel (emphatically) to cease Chinese acquisition of Israeli start-ups and industries and halt collaboration in all joint projects. The following day the Chinese ambassador to Israel was found dead in his home in Herzliya Pituach in Israel. Nobody is talking about it and it is totally weird. China has consistently and methodically learned every technique, product manufacture and innovation of all the global commerce because companies were greedy and wanted to cut costs, manufacturing their products in China rather than domestically. China holds the world to ransom presently. She also consistently steals intellectual Property.Software Engineers I taught when giving presentations in China and South Korea to promote and implement innovations would deliberately omit vital information to prevent IP theft.

When there's murder afoot, why discuss theft?

Many people believe this is another example of the ccp's intimidation/payback against Australia.
