Yesterday we had to put one of our cats down. She had lymphoma of the small intestine and had been kept alive with medication to a point where her quality of life had declined significantly. It still hurts to think of her, but I know in time the hurt will end.

Also yesterday, the family of an elderly professor friend of mine informed me that he had died. He also had cancer and there was not going to be a cure. I was happy to be able to visit him once during his illness, but that was before the pandemic lockdown.

Losing two friends (the cat and the professor), I am fortified thinking of how fortunate I am to have a husband I love and enjoy, and another, younger cat, to still pet and fuss over.

I'm sorry for your losses Bea. I put my kittygirl down last year and it still hurts to think of her.

My condolences for losing your friend, too.

It's good that you have such a positive outlook overall.
