Have pages in the forums here gotten smaller?

Am I just imagining things, is something strange going on with my phone, or have the pages in this forum gotten smaller?

It seems like they are smaller because the site admin has added that "quick reply" option that now appears at the bottom of each thread page. So probably one or two less posts will appear per page.

It's actually the number of topic-headings in the thread lists that's been reduced. There were definitely at least 25 of these per page before, as opposed to 16 now.

In fact, I'm not sure the addition of a quick response window on the posting pages has made much difference, as I think the number of actual posts per page has either remained unchanged at 15, or may have been reduced by one from 16.

I've never really counted them! As some posts are short while others are practically novels...

I thought I was the only one who had the quick reply box at the bottom.

Edit: Actually, this is really annoying, because in the forum pages there's only about 5 or 6 threads on the first page, not counting the sticky threads.

^ A good point. I have the feeling that some people only look at the first page of topics (I'm certainly guilty of that quite frequently), and if there are fewer of them, it could reduce the site's traffic still further. That's the last thing we need.

Not much the mods can do as we don't have admin access - I guess all changes have their pros and cons.

However, if enough negative feedback could be shown to the developer/administrator if an appeal were made to reverse it, I'm sure.

The quick reply box popping up was confusing yesterday, I thought I had glossed over it for an entire month. lmao

I was shocked to learn that somebody's actually maintaining the site. It's the first new or changed functionality I've seen in many years.

I noticed the "quick reply" box just yesterday and am okay with either way of replying.

I've noticed now that at least for me the quick reply feature has disappeared and the number of threads per page has gone back to what it used to be. Were the changes just some strange forum glitch?
