Donald Trump can't stop losing: The past few weeks have been the worst of his presidency

https://www.salon.com/2020/06/20/donald ... residency/

And this isn’t even a complete list! I guess being a washed up failed loser of a president is what happens when you spend half your working time golfing and the other half being hateful.

That's not fair. Donnie T can multitask. He spends two thirds of his time being hateful and half playing golf, meaning some of the time while he's playing golf he's also being hateful.

I bet no one would have written a pre-2016 book about Trump becoming president - it would have seemed so far fetched and so ridiculous - yet the truth turns out stranger than fiction. Certainly the producer of Back to the Future, who based Biff Tanner on Trump, would have drawn the line at a President Tanner.

The similarities are remarkable!

Stephen King wrote a book about a guy almost Exactly like trump getting elected by many of the same means. I think it’s called “The Dead Zone.” And he’s been asked - he did not base the character on trump. He just created a character that he thought Could be elected on these traits and it’s just a strange coincidence that trump turned out to be the guy.

Edit:

Here’s the interview:

Personally speaking, I can't see Trump winning,
But the trouble with getting so excited about how bad it looks for Trump,
Is if the unthinkable happens,
People will experience such an enormous letdown,
As they did when Hillary lost.

Same thing happened in the last Australian elections.

I would have of thought people would have learnt from those experiences,
And keep it a little more low key. 8)

Well, let's hope the American people can redeem themselves for putting this corrupt, cretinous, Russian puppet into office in the first place.

King must unknowingly have the Shining in order to have foreseen Trump.

Well, we'll understand a bit of how Germany feels.

I guess he got "tired of winning".

So he wants a little variety.

[opinion=mine]

Aside from taking credit for every good thing and blaming all of the bad things on his opponents, the only thing Mr. Trump has going for him is the admiration of right-wing extremist groups, ultra-conservative religious groups, and wealthy Republican capitalists wanting to hold back Socialism at any cost.

It does remind one of Custer...who told his men on the eve of the Little Bighorn to "take no prisoners!"

As someone else on WP said "Trump is trickier than Dickie, and slicker than Willie, and has more teflon than Reagan.".

So you gotta expect the unexpected.

But on the other hand some of that teflon slick trickiness does seem to be wearing thin just now. But Putin may rescue him in the end somehow.

Remember the lesson from the last election ... complacency in a "Sure Win" is one of the main reasons what's-her-name lost the election.  She also ignored the flyover states and everyone but the very rich and the very poor in her efforts at pandering to special interests.  Right up until the very end, she believed that she had already won.

And look at what happened. :eew:

So let's not get complacent, folks!  It isn't a sure thing until everyone votes against the Big Cheeto.

Never read the book, but saw the movie. And the movie already has a certain meaning for me. But the movie centers on the psychic guy played by Christopher Walkin, and kinda skims over the backstory of the POTUS (played by Martin Sheen)and his rise to power. This added stuff from the book is quite fascinating.
